Boyden is a unique, rural, agricultural community located on Iowa State Highway 18, in the northwest corner of the state. Situated just 45 miles south of Interstate 90 and 60 miles east of Interstate 29, access to travel and distribution is very convenient.

The citizens of Boyden didn't struggle with the decision of where they wanted to live. And, they don't mind telling you about all the benefits their community has to offer.

Our city also provides major businesses and services for its citizens - services such as a local bank, hardware/lumber store, variety store and gas & convenience stores. Our citizens also receive all the utility services enjoyed by those of larger communities, such as cable TV and high speed internet.

Boyden's strong commitment to a close neighborhood and friendly community is a result, in part, of faith and worship. The community offers the First Reformed Church, United Presbyterian Church and St John Lutheran Church. You'll also find almost any other faith, denomination, or congregation within 15 miles of Boyden.

• The Boyden Public Library was completed in May of 2003 and provides an environment for people of all ages.
• Centennial Park is located on the east side of Boyden. The park, completed in 1989, is complete with playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, walking trail, softball field, shelter houses and campground.
• Boyden also has a thriving summer rec program. The children of the community can play softball, baseball, volleyball, and many other activities during the summer months.
• Annual community events include a children's Halloween Party, Santa Day, Library story hour, Veteran's Day Program, and many others!

Boyden Community Preschool provides the necessary building blocks for 3-5 year olds getting ready for their school years. The Boyden/Hull School district provides excellent education for Boyden's youth. Boyden/Hull Elementary is in Boyden - Boyden/Hull High School is in Hull (7 miles west). It's the 6th fastest growing school district in the state of Iowa.

Active civic organizations that promote a positive influence to the community include the Boyden Community Club, the Kiwanis Club and the American Legion. Boyden also has a volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and Ambulance Department which serve the community.
